The National Union of Romanian Employers (UNPR)

UNPR is a non-governmental, non-profit, apolitical union which gathers private enterprises with Romanian, foreign and mixed ownership. The Union was founded in 1991, being the first business confederation registered in Romania.

Nowadays, UNPR is a union of business federations with various activities and strives to represent all industries. Its objective is to represent, promote and defend the interest of its members, which are mostly SMEs.­­

Being established and activating for more than 30 years, UNPR has taken a leadership position in supporting and promoting Romania’s business scene.

In in the field of green energy, UNPR is a professional organisation with the following aims:

  • To represent the interests of companies and organizations operating in the Romanian energy sector (covering all relevant areas such as electricity, gas, oil, water, nuclear, coal, renewable resources energy services, research and development) towards the national and European institutions, as well as other relevant international institutions and energy organizations.
  • To inform and provide advisory services mostly on energy-related topics and particularly on issues such as electricity, gas, oil, water, coal, nuclear energy, renewable energy, using the experience and knowledge on European markets, financial solutions, management and consulting on the development of energy strategies.
